project purpose

I wanted to make a gift for my significant other who loves cars, specifically Mustangs.

I designed and built an LED mustang sign in the style of a neon sign. Using a picture of a neon sign as a reference, I recreated the mustang logo in SolidWorks. I then created a channel for the lights using the logo outline as a path. I broke the model into 14 different pieces and 3D printed each piece using both a resin printer and an FDM printer. I then used resin to glue each piece together and painted the assembly. Lastly, I added the neon LED lights and soldered them all together.
